Many web sites, including !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , are writing about the BRZ Series.Yellow. But they don’t know, man - they weren’t there. I was. What would you like to know? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but if there’s anything I missed, ask me anything.

Does the color look better in person?

I’m holding out for driving impressions of the new 86/BRZ. I know everyone keeps mocking the 5 hp/ft-lbs increase, but I’m curious to see if they did more tuning to even out the torque curve and get rid of the dip.

I think so. Darker than post-it note, lighter than school bus. They finally got yellow right.

A new final drive and apparently a whole new top-end could make things interesting. Of course, 156 ft-lb of torque might still be a bit underwhelming. I’ll be curious to drive one and compare.
For the record, I didn’t mind the torque until I picked up my new car and realized what I was missing. The BRZ is great, it doesn’t really need to be faster... but think about the torque!

I’m holding out for that too, particularly the torque dip. My car has a basic tune that mostly eliminates it, so it can certainly be done in an otherwise stock configuration. I’m also curious how well the suspension changes and brake upgrades work. With a simple pad and fluid upgrade, my otherwise stock brakes (two piston front, one piston rear) have never failed me on the track. The Brembos are four piston front, two piston rear. That’s great, but are they that much better? There’s only so much rotor you can fit under the stock 17" wheels.

Subaru, spelled backwards, is Urabus. Therefore, all Subarus are buses.

I had no idea about that dip, that really is a weird looking torque curve.

Is this Subaru’s version of Porsche pricing, where instead of taking things away they just make it even slower and charge you more?

Is the new tiller thicker and made of better material than our current wheel?

Yeah, the issue with suspension and brakes is that modification is relatively cheap and easy. If the performance package was good enough to convince me to leave the car completely stock it’d be worth the upgrade, but as soon as you feel the need to do even one mod you’re no longer really saving money.

I don’t think so, unless you count braking improvements as “make it even slower,” because it will most likely slow down better.

It looks thicker, and is smooth leather rather than the textured/perforated leather we have now.

I agree. Why buy the factory upgrade if you’re going to swap it for coilovers anyway?

Maybe by early 2017 I'll have a few more dollars. This is seriously the most appealing the zc6 has been to me thus far.

It’s not out yet. You probably saw the Scion equivalent.
Also rare.
